-PSC Spring registration opens 10/12 for students planning on taking Dual Enrollment classes 2nd semester.
-Financial aid representatives will be in the JHS Media Center this Thursday, 10/8 to help students and parents complete FAFSA applications. Students should complete their FFAA applications prior to the FAFSA. Stop by guidance if you need help.

Jay High School has received several complaints about student involvement in vandalism of homes during homecoming activities. JHS does not condone any behavior of this type. We are recommending that citizens and parents contact law enforcement regarding complaints and concerns with any off-campus incidents. The Jay High School Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, September 26th in the JHS New Gym from 8-11PM. Doors open at 7:50pm. This is for students in grades 9-12. Dates from other schools must be in at least the 9th grade and no older than 20. All non-JHS guest must fill out paperwork with Deputy Martin by Wednesday, September 23rd.
Please enter the dance through the front gym lobby. No open containers may be brought into the gym and bags are subject to be searched. Students must show ID to be admitted. There will be no re-entry permitted.

The Town of Jay will be closing School Street at the intersection of Alabama Street (Highway 89) and School Street to perform work on the water well, again. Work will begin at 8:00 A.M. on Wednesday; September 16th and will be closed until 5:00 P.M. There will be NO turn from Alabama Street (Highway 89) onto School Street. School Street will be closed from Highway 89 to the entrance to the JHS/JES parent pick up line. Access to the JHS Bus ramp, as well as the parent drop off /pick up area will be available from Spring Street. Please see the attached map to show which areas of School Street will be closed. Please be mindful that buses will still need to enter and exit JHS. Do NOT block any drives or entrances to JHS on School Street during pick up and drop off times. This closure will be is effective for Wednesday; September 16th.

A brief class meeting was held with 8th grade students on Tuesday; September 8th. They received a copy of the attached newsletter, as well as a t-shirt order form. Class dues are $20 and t-shirts are $11. It is not a requirement to purchase a shirt, only if they wish to have one. Money and orders are due by September 15th.
Students were told that they need to begin making a decision about homecoming activities (hallways, skits, etc.) We will begin having meetings with students for Homecoming next week. More information will be given to students as we meet.
