We at Jay High School are honored to welcome all of our new military families to our school community. We understand the unique challenges that come with being part of the military, and we want to ensure that your family feels welcomed and supported. Changing duty stations can be stressful, and we offer students transitioning from military duty stations assistance in the form of a student transition team. The team consists of peer counselors with one of our students serving as the transition team coordinator. This team provides a military peer-support system as well as helping our new military students become familiar with our school during their first couple of weeks at JHS. Our staff is dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all of our students.
Our school takes great pride in providing a wide range of educational and social opportunities to ensure that our military families are able to thrive. We have a number of resources available to help military families adjust to their new school environment. Please contact Desha Lashley, JHS Guidance Counselor, to start the process or if you need extra assistance contact our School Military Point of Contact, Chris Hendrix. Jay High School reserves at least 5% of open enrollment seat for military students as defined in Section 1002.31, F.S. We look forward to getting to know you better and helping you find success at Jay High.
